Affiliate disclosure

How FlockProof makes money, and what that money does not change.

Some links on FlockProof are affiliate links. If you buy through one, FlockProof earns a commission from the seller, and you pay the same price you would pay without the link. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides require sites to say so, and this page does.

Where things stand

FlockProof uses Amazon Associates links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon links open the US store, Amazon.com; shipping and availability depend on your location.

Affiliate links are tagged as sponsored, open in a new tab and go to the seller’s page, such as a maker’s own store or a large retailer. Clicking one does not cost you anything. Buying within the seller’s tracking window is what credits FlockProof. The price shown on a FlockProof page is the price checked on the date beside it, not a promise of the price at checkout.

What commission does not change

Fit to the job, owner complaints and price set the ranking. A product with no affiliate program can rank first, and a high-commission product can rank last. Known problems stay in the review, with links to the owner reports.

The link does not change the price you pay. Health, safety and space numbers come from extension services and veterinary references, whether or not a product pays commission.

Free products and paid coverage

If a maker sends a free product or pays for coverage, the page says so at the top, and neither one buys the product a better ranking. Kyle’s own purchases are disclosed in a box labeled “From Kyle’s flock”. Anything not in such a box is research, not ownership.

Where you will see this

A one-line disclosure sits under the top of every roundup and review and links back to this page. For the full method behind the picks, read how FlockProof researches gear. For who runs the site and how it earns money, read the about page. Questions go through the contact page.
